Rode 50 miles yesterday (Saturday).......absolutly some of the best riding so far this season. Good to see that mother nature hasn't given up on us, not like some of the trail administers in Waukesha and Dodge counties. Didn't come across any high water, unfrozen swamps, or lack of snow. The only places that were bad were the places where the groomers never went thru from the "blizard" at the beginning of the month. Some corners were icy, but the three to four foot berms made it easy. Hopefully the trails will be assessed after tonight's snow........The fat lady hasn't sang yet..............

The trail administers have not given up. I checked again today and the trails west of Mapleton are still closed because of not enough snow and the fact that Dodge County is still closed. The person making the decision about the trails in Ashippun area has been working on the trails since Waukesha received state funding, so I do have to believe in his judgment of the trail conditions, he is also the person that has to deal with the land owners if there is a problem with damage. I did not see any new snow on Sunday night, so the trails would not have improved with out snow

Please remember that if you are caught riding on trails that are closed you can be ticketed for trespassing

We didn't get any of the might snow last night, but the trails in north western Waukesha County did get 4" on Saturday, just as did Washington, Dodge, and east of Hwy. P in Mapelton.

Just got off the phone with the Ocnomowoc club trail boss. The trails are closed in this area out of courtesy of the adjourning counties. Ashippun is in Dodge county but Waukesha does groom up to Ashippun. Waukesha County does not want anyone going up to Ashippun to get gas and possibly get a ticket because Dodge and Jefferson Counties are still closed. Hopefully this explains why the trails are closed in your area. This is the first time that the North section of Waukesha was partly opened.

I see that Washington County closed today. However, I see that Northern Waukesha is still open today. Is that correct?

According to Washington County's post on TravelWisconsin.com they are opening at noon today. I wouldn't be riding today because of the warm temps forecasted for today, Tuesday. The temps are to plunge again tonight and be below freezing tomorrow.

Really - the washington country snowmobile website says they closed today (and was just updated today)... doesn't make sense...

Now I get it - the message you were looking at was posted LAST Monday - as the Wash country trails did open LAST Tuesday at 12:00. But they are closed now, and probably will be till next January or so.
